Commonly Asked Questions

Developmental trauma is the combination of childhood trauma or overwhelming stress that is repetitive and ongoing across the developmental years.

Do you only practice virtually?

Most clients at Woven Wholeness are seen virtually. Emily has the ability to see clients in person in Old Fort, NC should local-to-Asheville clients prefer in person. Otherwise, virtual is an option for those in NC, GA, VA, FL, SC and CO.

Do you take insurance?

Woven Wholeness is not in network with any insurance companies. In order to best preserve the confidentiality and client centeredness of treatment, we won't correspond with your insurance company at all. However, we will issue superbills upon request for you to submit for possible out of network reimbursement.

Why don't you take insurance?

Insurance companies require far too much involvement in the client healing journey. From requiring diagnoses, to limiting the amount of sessions a client can engage in, to paying providers less than a livable wage, we have found that everyone involved is able to do their best work when insurance companies aren't part of the picture.

What do sessions cost?

An intake fee is $285, with individual sessions costing $250, families $270, and 90-minute extended sessions are $365. All other sessions are 45-55 minutes in length.
In-person intensives vary depending on the package.

How many sessions will we meet for?

We will continue to schedule sessions as long as you are receiving benefit. Every client is different in their needs, expectations, and desires when it comes to therapeutic work. While some prefer to meet in short stints in a more solution focused manner, others prefer to go an extended period of time for in-depth self exploration and layered healing. Clients of Emily's tend to prefer the latter - it is  not uncommon for a client to remain a client for years at a time. However, everyone is different. If you have certain expectations about frequency, duration and longevity, be sure to discuss this on your consultation call.

What is your cancellation policy?

We keep a consistency and flexible rescheduling policy at Woven Wholeness. In practice, this means that should you become unable to make an appointment, we will offer a minimum of 2 options for you to reschedule your appointment for the same week or week after (yes, this may result in two sessions within a week - when this happens we take full advantage of some in-depth work!) We do not waive fees for missed appointments and cancellations.
